Goo Goo Dolls Milwaukee Concert reviews
Good solid concert
My wife is the Goo Goo Dolls fan, but I bought her tickets to see them for Christmas 2020. As I said not a fan, but I can say they put on an excellent show. They played for almost two hours, focusing on their older songs while introducing fans to some songs from their new album. Sound and lighting good .. my wife loved it and as a non fan, I found it enjoyable,.
The opening band, Blue October, is a different story. The sound was awful, too loud we couldn't understand 99% of the lyrics. The lighting was pretty bad as well, mostly silhouetting the band so you couldn't see them. The lead singer has a good voice (even if you can't understand the lyrics) but is a bit over dramatic in his performance at times getting his face so close to the camera that you could see his pores on the video screen. The band played well and if we might have even liked them but for the sound. As it stands ... they might be good .. I don't know
The venue was fine and seemed organized. If I had one criticism it would be that there was no sign indicating where fast access was and what time it was open. This is the first time I have bought fast access and I felt a little lost figuring out how to use it. Other than that ...pretty standard big venue.
